Now here's a surprise.
This was a very good movie. Sat down last night, watched the first 5 minutes and was hooked. I really enjoyed it.
Mac plays a typical (but over the top) loud mouth, money hungry Ballplayer who doesn't care about the team, and retires mid-season upon getting his 3000th hit, assuming it will land him in the hall of fame (which is ALL that he cares about). Because he's a prick (which I think he played extremely well) the press doesn't care for him and his induction never happens. 9 years later, it looks like he's got a chance and they realize there was an error with his stats and he decides to come back to get 3 more hits. From that point on the 'Disney' side of this movie takes over as he 'discovers' the true natur of whio he is, and he realizes his true appreciation for the game of baseball.

Anywho. The ending is VERY predictable (I actually had it mapped out in my head about mid-way through).

Anyways, better than expected. I recommend for an easy watch one night.

What's your rating of this movie?
