This movie is up there with the Birdcage for me. I also didn't like this one in the theatre. Anat dragged me and everyone in the theatre was rolling on the floor with laughter and I just didn't "get it". Now I've seen it at least a dozen times and it's actually brilliant. There aren't too many comedies written this well these days. I'm sure that Greek people found extra humour in it that we Jews may have missed. very funny story/screen play.
I won't rate this, as I only saw 15 minutes or so (somewhere in the middle of the film) and thought, 'Meh, who cares?'
I hated hated hated! this movie. Clichéd humour, even worse writing, and the relationship between the two star-crossed lovers about which the whole movie was supposed to hinge had ZERO chemistry or believeability.
I really thought it was a pathetic outing.
