The spoof comedy that set the gold standard for all that followed it, AIRPLANE takes shots at the slew of disaster movies that peppered cinemas in the 70s. When the passengers and crew of a jet are incapacitated due to food poisoning, a rogue pilot (who has a drinking problem and is afraid of flying) must cooperate with his ex-girlfriend turned stewardess to bring the plane to a safe landing. No disaster flick cliche is left unroasted, and the musical score itself takes a less than reverent look... [Get complete synopsis]

Classic all the way. Some of the humour is dated but it's still A-one material from the visual gag pioneers. Love the jive talkers, Robert Hays' drinking problem, "Over, Under. Roger, Roger! What's the vector, Victor?", "Ever been in a men's locker room Billy?", etc...
Makes me laugh every time.

Now, see...THIS is classic one-liner comedy! Christ, I STILL watch it and catch jokes I never caught before...

Agreed on all counts. Every scene is a riot.
"Ever seen a grown man naked Billy?"
The entire backflash to the disco bar is damn funny!!

"Surely, you can't be serious!"

"I am serious. And don't call me Shirley."

Can it be? We've found a film we ALL agree on?

"We have to get this man to the hospital."

"The hospital! What is it?"

"It's a big building where they put the sick people."

Single-handedly rescued Leslie Nielsen from obscurity, resurrecting his flagging career and reinvented him as a comedian. AWESOME!!

If you have not seen it before you should die.
the movie has great lines like when the pilot says,"Have you ever been in a cockpit before."

one of my favorite lines from this one...

Captain, how soon can you land?
I can't tell.
You can tell me. I'm a doctor.
No. I mean I'm just not sure.
Well, can't you take a guess?
Well, not for another two hours.
You can't take a guess for another two hours?

side splitting, even after seeing this dozens of times.

What's your rating of this movie?
