Genre: Social Drama
A thrilling, detailed account of one woman and her CIA team's non-stop pursuit on the trail of Osama Bin Laden. We already know the outcome of the story - Bin Laden was discovered hiding out in a compound in Pakistan, and a risky raid of the compund was approved, wherein they discovered and executed him. The tension lies in following Chastain around over the course of a decade as she full-out commits to hunting him down, her trials and tribulations with her coworkers and employers, her dead-end leads, the coworkers killed in the line of duty along the way, and her 110% determination to her theories as to his whereabouts and connections. Lots of red tape to cut through, until the eventual raid and capture, finalling ending her career's work up to this point. It's basically Chastain's film, but some nice minor roles for Chandler and Gandolfini as well. Not as good as Bigelow's 'Hurt Locker', but a serious, solid outing nonetheless.
Saw it and loved it.
