This is not just another mission. The IMF is shut down when it's implicated in a global terrorist bombing plot. Ghost Protocol is initiated and Ethan Hunt and his rogue new team must go undercover to clear their organization's name. No help, no contact, off the grid. You have never seen a mission grittier and more intense than this. -- (C) Paramount

Rented this with THE BOY while THE WIFE and THE GIRL were out at their "Mother/Daughter Book Club" meeting...

I don't think I ever watched the 3rd movie and wondered where all these "new" team-mates came from - was Simon Pegg there for just #3 or was he in all of them...getting a bit tired of his bumbling Brittish schtick...almost comedy relief.

Anyhoo...was pleased to see it was directed by Brad Bird of Incredibles/Ratatouille/Iron Giant fame - he's got an amazing touch with story while keeping action at pace.

The movie WAS good...but almost TOO much for it's own good...Ethan Hunt is so incredible at, well...EVERYTHING that I wonder why I bother feeling anything for him at all...he's in danger? Meh...he'll get out...no suspence what-so-ever...it's like he's never really under any threat even though he should be dead 200 times over.

I suppose in the end it was worth the $5.99 rental, would've been more miffed had I seen it for $15 in the theatre...

Hmmmm could have sworn that I rated this already.

Saw this a month ago and realy, really enjoyed it. Mike, I agree fully with what you're saying but I suppose I was able to put that stuff aside and just enjoy the ride.
I loved the original, HATED HATED the second, third was kind of crappy but better than second. This one was on par with the first (for me).

As for Pegg and the rest, no, this is their first appearance and I guess they were just his crew for this mission.

What's your rating of this movie?
