This is a rare case of me seeing the final five minutes of a film, and it being so bad that I have zero desire to see the entire thing. My ETB will still give it half a star, for the benefit of the doubt, but the acting was so melodramatic and hokey, with barely two words uttered. Just a bunch of POW's standing around gazing at each other, like they were anticipating the biggest group hug ever, then the death of a key character, and then cornball salutes and knowing nods and moping, like the end of Dead Poet's Society when they all jump on the desks and say "Captain, My Captain!", but with less enthusiasm and more brow-furrowing. I've seen more honest moments and acting in 'Hogan's Heroes', maybe even 'Gilligan's Island'. Booooo!!
Fuck this movie made me angry. I can't quite explain it, but Mitch really just spelled it out. What a bunch of bullshit. Maybe if I watched the whole thing it would have been better, but after watching 5 painful minutes, there's no way I'll watch this again. Throw this on the "Mamma Mia Pile" I suppose.
Ah yes, Mamma Mia, which Deril watched for a THIRD time last night.
oh please. We turned on the TV and it was on. I immediately changed the channel as quickly as I could while also changing the baby.
Hey Deril, I just read Ebert's review of 'Hart's War' and it seemed that he and other reviewers rather liked it UP UNTIL the part that WE started watching, and then it fell out of favour. HUH!
