Wearing its R rating for violence like a badge of honor, PATHFINDER bears more resemblance to a horror film than most of its historical action-film brethren. Have you seen 'Conan The Barbarian' or 'Rambo'? If so, there's no need to see this, which is infinitely worse and steals many aspects of those two films, along with touches of 'Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom', 'Predator', and some of the silly traps set by Ewoks.
Our hero (let's call him 'Crambo'), is a Viking living amongst the whitest Native Indians you will ever meet, who speak perfect English, but with the worst dialogue ever. We were reciting the dialogue moments before it came out of the actors' mouths. It is also a miracle the Natives survive day-to-day life and the elements, judging by how poor they are at fighting, hunting, etc....
The only people stupider are the Vikings, who decide against better judgment to cross frozen ice with full armour and loaded horses, and who attach themslevs by a single line of rope while crossing narrow alpine paths.
We went to rent 'Hot Fuzz' but it was out, so we kinda shrugged and picked this thinking, "How bad could it be?". Turns out, pretty bad.
Avoid at all costs.
