Through a magic spell, Ash, a modern-day discount-store employee, finds himself back in the middle ages. Given the key to return home by an alchemist, he bungles the incantation and, instead, releases the forces of darkness.

Where else could the trilogy go but through a vortex portal to medeival times?!

You either love this movie or you hate it, I find. And I'm DEFINATELY in the former catagory!

And I am in the latter! Again, mildly entertaining, but the worst of the three.
Maybe I didn't watch it with the right people?
Mikey, let's have an Evil Dead fest. I'm game.

This was actually my favorite, there are some great classic lines, and ASh's personality comes out the most here. The skelleton army reminded me of the Ols Sinbad movies from the 70's.

I was flicking through the selections on the The Movie Network and THERE it was: Army of Darkness!

So I watched it again! Have to admit, without friends and/or beer around, it's a tad less fun. Still AMAZING B'ness to this movie.

Come give me some sugar, baby!

I tried to get Dessy to watch it. Would have been easier to get my cat to watch it. Just doesn't have chick appeal!

is that why you didn't like it so much?

You guys know the original working title, right?

"Medieval Dead" - I shit thee not.

Awesome action/horror flick. Hilarious lines throughout.

"Hail to the King, baby!"

Passing the torch:

Watched this with THE BOY - who's JUUUUST starting to get curious about Horror movies but is still too young to watch them...figrued I'd start off slow with a movie like this that is not THAT scary (really) and has enough comedy relief to wash it down...

He liked it, but found the skeletons to be "SO LAME/FAKE"...sigh, children of CGI...

I found the wooden puppeteering of the skeletons (as well as the Sinbad-esque stop/start motion) to be ALL part of the charm...and the fromage of Ash's "macho" lines. Sure, it's dippy, but it's FUN!

In the age of self-aware, self-referencing "breaking the 4th wall" funny horror films...this one was refreshing to say the least.

I'd still be down for an Evil Dead-fest at some point. Never was a huge fan of them, but as I stated, maybe I just need to watch with the right crowd.

What's your rating of this movie?
