A Low Down Dirty Shame (1994)

Cast: Keenen Ivory Wayans, , Jada Pinkett, , Salli Richardson, , Charles S. Dutton

Director(s): Keenan Ivory Wayans

Language: English

Genre: Comedy

Synopsis

Andre Shame has no choice but to leave his private eye job on the LAPD, after failing to crack the case on drug lord, Mendoza, at the same time becoming romantically entangled with the wrong woman. However, when Rothmiller, Shame's ex-colleague now working for the DEA, tells him that the Mendoza case is being re-opened, Shame can't help but begin a personal investigation. This time, hopefully, Shame won't embarrass his private eye talents by becoming sidetracked by a new romance.

This film is well-intentioned, but ultimately a misguided mess. Very formulaic, but Wayans and Pinkett are likeable enough to sit through this for some mild chuckles.
Strange, I like the Wayans brothers, but somehow their collective movies just don't do it. They're genuinely funny guys but have yet to do a really good script worthy of their comedic talents. Their best stuff is still 'In Living Colour'.
This film gets a star though, just for having a drug lord named Mendoza!
MENDOZAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
